Type timer handles as number via window.setTimeout in the browser
Avoid any for setTimeout handles; type them as number and call window.setTimeout to get the browser return type.

Bad example
Old codetypescript
| 1 | private timeoutID?: any; |
| 2 | this.timeoutID = setTimeout(fn, 300); |
Explanation (EN)
An any handle hides the timer API's actual platform contract.

Good example
New codetypescript
| 1 | private timeoutID?: number; |
| 2 | this.timeoutID = window.setTimeout(fn, 300); |

Notes (EN)
In browser-only code that can access window, type the handle as number from window.setTimeout; in shared/server code derive the actual timer return type.
Exceptions / Tradeoffs (EN)
Use ReturnType<typeof setTimeout> for environment-neutral helpers. Referencing window during server rendering can fail even when TypeScript DOM types are available.
